Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Week 1 –  siete y ocho de septiembre =  Sept. 7 and 8

Hola estudiantes,

Hoy:  ¡Bienvenido!  =  Welcome!  It was so good to start class with you today.  You all tried your best and participated!

I really want you to learn and have fun.

Things to know so you can learn and have fun:

There is homework EVERY WEEK.  Sometimes you will have writing homework, sometimes you will have listening homework.  BUT hopefully you will have LEARNING homework every week! 🙂

START at THE HOME PAGE of the blog every week.  THE HOME PAGE is part of your homework.

Doing a little Spanish every day is the way!!  Speak it, listen to it, read it, write it. This is how you will improve your speaking skills.  Only YOU can do this for yourself.  No one can learn it for you.

Homework tip:  Don’t wait until the day before class to try and do all the homework.  Spread out the homework over several days.  I expect your best effort with your homework.

Practice Duolingo one lesson 5x a week.  One lesson takes only 5 minutes.

I like SpanishDict.com for online dictionary and translation.  TIP: when using translator, input fewer words at a time. The translation may come out more accurate. The most important part:  YOUR SENTENCES MUST MAKE SENSE TO YOU 🙂

Please send me a message if you have questions regarding this blog.  Go to the HOME page and click Contact Señora T.

FYI: How to change translation setting on YouTube

La tarea :  “Háblame de ti”= Tell me about yourself. Write your answers in Spanish to the questions in the pdf below. You do not have to print the pdf.  If you prefer, you can use your phone or paper.  Everyone will share your answers, with a few of your classmates, next week.  If you need help with translation, use SpanishDict.com.

Use this pdf  Háblame de ti – todo en español

NEW STUDENTS:  use the pdf to familiarize yourself with the vocabulary.  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MEMORIZE ALL this week.  We often play this game in class.

spot-it-vocab-001

Listen & Practice for proper pronunciation. YOU can sound amazing in class!

Practiquen = Practice Duolingo one lesson at least 5X a week.  Students who do Duolingo speak more Spanish 🙂

Recordatorio: = Reminder:  The HOME page stories, videos and reminders are part of your homework.  Hopefully, you already READ the entire HOME PAGE post BEFORE coming to this page 😉
